19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
