Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
