Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
