Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team following the fallout from his recent interview.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
